We decided to rent bikes to get around the city faster. We planned to visit some of the ancient tombs on our bikes. However, on our way to one of the tombs a nice lady pulled up to me on her motorbike and started talking. She told me that the tomb was next to her home and that we could follow her. It seemed like such a long ride, and I asked her several times if we were going to the right tomb. She insisted that we were. After we arrived at her house, she fed us some fresh pineapple and some water that we threw out when she wasn’t looking. Then she took us on her motorbike to visit one of the tombs. When we arrived at the tomb she showed us that she had a flat tire and told us that she would be back to get us in 10 minutes. We didn’t have enough time to go inside the tomb, so we just explored in front of it. She came back with her husband’s motorcycle to take us to her house. When we arrived at her house she gave us some soup. We had a fascinating conversation with her husband about the Vietnam War. After awhile the husband went inside the house, and the lady decided to ask us for money. It became a very awkward situation. We didn’t know what to do. We wanted to help, but we didn’t think handing her money was the appropriate way to help. We decided to give her some money for the flat tire and plus a little extra. Then we quickly left. That evening we decided to try out the Vietnamese massage. It was definitely different than the massages in Cambodia and Thailand.
