We also visited some ruins from an ancient temple called Wat Banan. The ruins sit on the top of a small mountain, so tourists must climb many stairs in order to see them. On our way up several local children decided to join us, and they started fanning us with their palm leaf fans. Although it felt great, we knew they were going to ask for money, so we tried to tell them no. However, they didn’t really take no for an answer. When we got to the top they showed us good spots to take pictures of the ruins, and of course they wanted money when we made it back down the mountain.
