After stopping at the village the tour guides told us that we would take a three hour ride to the Cambodian border. Once again we got a little more ride than we paid for. It took us about 5 hours to get to the border. During our ride, the driver suddenly became anxious about something, but we couldn’t communicate with him. He started moving some of the luggage to the front of the boat. We are still uncertain what he was worried about. After we crossed the border we took another 5 hour boat ride to get to a bus, which took another two hours to get to Phnom Penh. We barely beat Whitney to Cambodia by an hour and a half. My friend from CWF helped me pick Whitney up from the airport. On the way, he told Jeremy a little bit about his experience being forced to fight with the Khmer Rouge and how he escaped the army. When we got home from the airport, we discovered that there were ants all over Whitney’s and my bed. The ants had even gotten into my supplements that were in Ziplock bags and put into another bag. We cleared the ants off the bed and sprayed it with bug spray. Whitney has been a real trooper. She has gotten to experience quite a lot in her first couple of days.
