This week we met with Vulnerability and Illiteracy Reduction (VIR), a non profit organization that is trying to reduce the illiteracy rate in rural villages around Siem Reap. We helped them write grant proposals and spent a full day riding on the back of a motorcycle to visit each of the literacy classes. The roads were very rough: we had a couple of flat tires, and our bodies were sore the next day from all the jarring. VIR wants us to help with literacy trainings and setting up a new literacy center in one of the districts.
