The next day our drivers brought us some bananas for our boat journey to Siem Reap. They must have known that it would be a long journey. We heard that the boat was the best way to travel to Siem Reap from Battambang. It has the reputation for being the most scenic ride in Cambodia. It was definitely scenic. We went down some canals where we were so close to nature that we had branches hitting us. At one point there was water coming up from under the boat, branches and leaves falling down on us as we scraped by them, and ants crawling all over us. Whitney wasn’t phased at all, until the spiders came. In the end, we really did enjoy the boat ride and we were glad that we had taken it instead of the bus.
