Siem Reap

During our second day in Siem Reap, we paid a tuk tuk driver to take us to all the other tourist sites. First we went to a crocodile farm, which was filled with lifeless crocodiles. They looked like a bunch of statues, so we decided to see what they would do if we dropped something on their heads. I dropped a little twig on one of the crocodiles, and it didn’t even flinch. Then Jeremy decided to through a plastic pipe at one of the crocodiles. It made us jump when it moved, but then the crocodile just froze in a new position. Next we visited a silk farm. We learned how the worms are killed in the process of getting the silk, and our tour guide asked us if we wanted to try one. Jeremy jumped at the opportunity because he thought it might be his only chance to eat a bug in Cambodia. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want another chance. He had a strange look on his face and was asking for gum after he finished it. Our tour guide also told us how the worm feces could be used to make tea. Jeremy wasn’t as anxious to try out the tea. We were impressed by the intricate patterns that the girls were able to weave, and we can’t believe that silk is so cheap out here when it takes so much time and effort to make.
